未分類 Congratulations, Eric Silverman, MD, MPH – ZSFG Emergency Physician Honored with EMS Hospital Provider Award 20 5 月, 2025 As San Francisco’s only Level 1 Trauma Center and designated EMS Base Hospital, Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG) plays a vital role in the city’s ability to respond to emergencies. Each year, ZSFG receives thousands of consultations from EMS clinicians treating critically ill and injured patients in the field. Whether guiding a cardiac arrest resuscitation or helping convince an injured patient to accept transport, EMS Base Physicians provide essential support—while simultaneously caring for patients in the ZSFG emergency department. This EMS Week, Dr. Eric Silverman was recognized with the EMS Hospital Provider Award, which honors emergency department staff who demonstrate exceptional patient care. This award highlights the often-unseen work of ZSFG and its EMS partners in delivering critical, high-quality care from the field to the ED. Dr. Silverman began his career at ZSFG in 2015 as a UCSF EMS & Disaster Medicine fellow and has served as a full-time Emergency Medicine attending physician since 2017. In addition to providing clinical care, he teaches students, residents, and fellows, and serves as the ZSFG EMS Base Hospital Medical Director, where he leads quality improvement efforts, EMS education, and advisory committee work. At UCSF, he directs the EMS & Disaster Medicine Fellowship Program and the Emergency Medicine Residency EMS rotation, training future leaders in prehospital and disaster care. ZSFG’s Chief of Emergency Medicine notes, “Eric’s deep understanding of EMS care has driven meaningful improvements in cardiac, stroke, and trauma outcomes. His leadership has strengthened EMS involvement across our care systems, ultimately improving patient outcomes.” Reflecting on the award, Dr. Silverman shares, “Receiving the EMS Hospital Provider Award is a profound honor. It reflects the collaboration, dedication, and shared mission of our ED and EMS teams to deliver excellent care from the field to the bedside. I’m grateful to work alongside such a skilled and committed team at ZSFG.”
