U.S. News recognized the 30-bed Skilled Nursing Facility at ZSFG as one of the “2025 Best Nursing Homes” – earning the highest possible achievement with a “High Performing” rating and an overall rating of 5 out of 5. The hospital is now part of the elite 19% of SNFs who have been recognized for providing essential care to our community of patients requiring short-term rehabilitation following a hospitalization for surgery, heart attack, stroke, injury or similar condition. In addition to her role as CEO at our hospital, Dr. Ehrlich continues to provide care to patients at Richard Fine People's Clinic – the hospital’s primary care clinic. Her leadership in public service and her commitment to providing care to the those in need, no matter their situation, is a testament to her pledge to health equity and is transforming that way we take care of our community every day.

Things at the opiate treatment program at San Francisco General Hospital look a good deal different these days from before the pandemic hit. For starters, there’s now an option to pick up methadone from a mobile clinic stationed in the hospital’s shaded parking lot, rather than in the traditional clinic inside Ward 93.

When we received a call about receiving 1000+ vaccine doses we knew we had to take the opportunity, whatever it takes. Mary Mercer, SF Vaccine Coordinator & ZSFG ER Dr said she didn’t hesitate: “Yes, we definitely want that. Any drop we can get, we want.”

Not many people know what it was like to be on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. At ZSFG, Chief Medical Officer Lukejohn Day and Chief Nursing Officer Terry Dentoni have lived the pandemic every day, with each new surge.
