Public Health, Health Network & ZSFG Teams Receive Prestigious Equity Awards
A multidisciplinary team from SFDPH, the San Francisco Health Network and Zuckerberg San Francisco General received two prestigious equity awards in December recognizing their innovative efforts to deliver high-quality, equitable care for heart failure patients, with a focus on addressing social and behavioral needs of Black/African Americans.
ZSFG programs awarded more than $800,000 in Hearts Grants
The San Francisco General Hospital Foundation awarded more than $800,000 in support of programs, projects, and initiatives at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center through its Hearts Grants Program, which provides funding for innovation that might otherwise go unfunded.
Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center Receives Prestigious Baby-Friendly Designation
ZSFG has achieved the prestigious international Baby-Friendly designation. This distinguished honor demonstrates that ZSFG is adhering to the highest standards of care for breastfeeding parents, ensuring that all babies get the healthiest start in life. ZSFG is committed to providing world-class care to all birthing people, regardless of their insurance or ability to pay.
Holiday Festivities at ZSFG
As the year came to an end, we capped off December in reflection and celebration at the hospital. The Patient Experience team and UCSF’s Dean’s Office organized opportunities for staff to give back to the community – organizing a Toy Drive where donations were shared with the Pediatric patients and shared with the community through the Jewish Family and Children’s Services Gift Drive, Toys for Tots, and the SFFD Toy Program.

Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Mother’s Milk Bank Collect Thousands of Ounces of Human Milk During Second Annual Donation Drive
During National Breastfeeding Awareness Month, Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG), San Francisco’s first Baby-Friendly certified safety net hospital and only Level 1 Trauma Center, hosted the second annual Human Milk Drive on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. in partnership with Mother’s Milk Bank.
