Uncategorized @fil-ph Let’s Celebrate Our Nurses! May 5, 2025 A Note from our CEO, Dr. Susan Ehrlich This week is Nurses Week, and I am thrilled to celebrate this year’s theme: the Power of Nurses to Transform Health. What a great theme to honor the scores of nurses all across the ZSFG campus! Our nurses’ dedication and transformative power never ceases to amaze me. They put patients first, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met—especially when patients are at their most vulnerable. They speak up in care teams to ensure timely treatment, respectful care, and access to essential resources. Whether it’s coordinating with social services, clarifying a treatment plan, or simply listening deeply, nurses champion their patients’ dignity, safety, and well-being every step of the way. I am deeply proud of the expertise and ingenuity our nurses provide in the support of our patients. From lifesaving trauma and acute care to primary care that keeps our community healthy, nurses at ZSFG are the heartbeat of our healthcare system. They provide a full spectrum of services—including psychiatric and specialized care, wound treatment, and medication management. They manage the busiest pediatric and urgent care clinics in the city and, each year, organize a large-scale, free community vaccine clinic that delivered 6,491 vaccines during the 2024–25 season. Thanks to our nurses, U.S. News & World Report named our Skilled Nursing Facility, the Redwoods, one of the best nursing homes in 2025. To every nurse at ZSFG: I am beyond grateful for your contributions. Your dedication, heart, and vision truly transform health—at the bedside, in the community, and beyond. – Susan
